We have had to make the talk on 29th November a 'members only' evening as it is likely to be very popular. We also have a maximum  capacity of 100 people in St. Edward's Hall so attendence will be on a first come first served basis.

The Stow and District Civic Society promotes the history and amenities of Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds, a town with a rich heritage reaching back over 4,000 years.

 

Formed on 3rd August 1971, the Society became a registered charity in 1972 (reg. no.264597) and currently has over 175 members.

 

The Society is a friendly and social group and runs a lively programme of informative and social events and activities, giving you the opportunity to join in and shape our future.

 

Our stated aims are to:

 

• Stimulate public interest in the promotion of topics including, but not exclusively, the history, geography, natural history, architecture, urban design and planning in the area.

 

• Encourage high standards in architecture and planning.

 

• Secure the conservation, protection, improvement and development of the life and physical features of the area.
