“Last Supper in Pompeii”
Dr. Paul Roberts
We have had to make the talk on 29th November a 'members only' evening as it is likely to be very popular. We also have a maximum capacity of 100 people in St. Edward's Hall so attendence will be on a first come first served basis.
Sorry about that.
Stop press ....
Every Sunday morning at 10:30am
(1st April through to 30th September)
Starting at the stocks in the Square.
90-minute walk around central Stow.
Places are limited so to avoid disappointment please pre-book via the Visitor Information Centre.
The walk starts in the Square with an introduction and an explanation of how Stow has evolved through history. Moving around the Square you will learn about some of its architecture and how markets have driven the character of the town.
Walking around the town we cover topics such as the importance of sheep, transport, brewing, education, the church and of course about Stow’s role in the English Civil War.
The tour is of an historic nature run by members of the Stow & District Civic Society and is interactive, flexible and light-hearted with some anecdotes about local characters.
Cost £5 per person, payable on the day
